Symbolic Kneelers

As we come as a family to kneel and pray, as we come for Baptism or reaffirmation, as we come to receive the Holy Communion, as we come for any reason throughout the year, we can be reminded that God has, and always will, act on behalf of mankind.

A needlepoint version of “His Story” began on March 11, 1992.  Our Worship Chariman invited all persons interested in securing symbolic cushions for our altar, and sixteen people responded.  Soon a committee was making visits to needlepoint experts and other churches which had completed similar projects.

This project was lifted up to the Lord and represents the contribution of many persons who truly rose to the occasion– making a commitment of their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service.  Our stitchers are all church members with the exception of a mother who worked with her daughter.  The cushions were completed in time for our 1993 Christmas Eve Communion Service.

Katie Flanagan was the Project Chairman for “His Story Through the Eye of a Needle.”
