The organization of United Methodist Women is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another in their spiritual growth and personal development. One becomes a member by committing to be a part of this supportive community of women and by accepting the challenge to grow in mission and to participate in life-changing experiences. The Griffin unit of the UMW holds quarterly meetings including a luncheon to honor babies who have been born during the past year.

The five circles at Griffin First provide frequent opportunities for fellowship:

  • Faith Circle was established in the 1950’s. This circle meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the church Parlor.
  • Genesis Circle ranges in age from 20-something to 40-something and meets the third Monday of each month in member’s homes at 7:00 p.m.
  • Guild Circle has its roots in the Wesleyan Service Guild. Their monthly dinner/program meetings are held the first Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Reception Room.
  • Joy Circle members range from 30 to 60. Their monthly dessert meetings are held on the third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in member’s homes.
  • Love Circle members are 30-something to 60-something. Their monthly meetings are held the third Monday at 7:00 p.m. in member’s homes.
