Boy Scouts

Since being organized in 1927, Griffin First United Methodist Church has been a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, and scouting has been a valuable part of GFUMC’s mission outreach to the community.  As one of the longest continually chartered Boy Scout Troops in the Council and state of Georgia, Troop 4 and Griffin First United Methodist Church are proud to continue to work together.

Troop 4 has produced more than 120 Eagle Scouts during its rich history.  It is continuing to help fulfill the mission of the Boy Scouts: “To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.”

Jim Privee is the Scoutmaster and Eddie Stikes is the Troop Committee Chairman.

Troop 4 has 26 Scouts and 10 active Scout Leaders currently.
