Children’s Choirs

The Children’s Choirs meet most Wednesdays throughout the school year (roughly August to May) as part of the Wednesday Night Alive program.

Wesley Choir

Children’s Choir for singers in grades 3-5.  The Wesley Choir provides opportunities for children to learn about music and it’s role in worship through educational activities and the rehearsal of music for use in morning worship.  The Wesley Choir participates in worship services several times during the school year, performs special Music Ministry Children’s Programs in the fall and spring, and traditionally prepares a musical based on the life of a biblical character in the spring.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15pm (Music Suite-Alpha)
Director: Stephen J. Mulder

Cantate Choir

Children’s Choir for singers in grades K-2.  Cantate means “to sing” and children in this choir will be given a solid background in the fundamentals of singing and music theory while learning about how music is an important part of worship on Sundays and in our daily lives.  The Cantate Choir participates in morning worship services during the school year, including Palm Sunday, and for special Music Ministry Children’s Programs in the Fall and Spring.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15pm (Music Suite-Omega)
Director: Debby Daniel-Bryant

Youngest Voices

A stuctured singing experience for 3- and 4-year olds.  In this choir the basics of singing praises to God are introduced.  Once or twice each year the Youngest Voices will participate in morning worship, and they also participate in special Music Ministry Children’s programs.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15pm (Education Building-Lighthouse Kids room)
Director: Dee Bartosiewicz, assisted by Kathryn Partin

Celestial Chimers

A beginning, foundation-building ensemble for children in grades 3-5, this group learns to read music and the proper techniques for ringing handchimes.  This choir is a training choir for future participation in handbells.  The Celestial Chimers play for traditional worship several times throughout the year.

Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30-6:00pm (Music Suite-Omega)
Director: Stephen J. Mulder
