Rev. Andrew Covington – Lead Pastor, THE BRANCH Associate Pastor, Griffin First UMC

Andrew, his wife Mollie, son Drew (age 12), and daughter Emilie (age 8) moved to Griffin from Connexion UMC in Covington where he served as the Founding Pastor. They have served churches in Covington, Conyers, Marietta, and Lake City, GA.

Andrew grew up in Conyers, GA and graduated from Heritage High School in 1996. He then graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. Andrew then attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University and graduated with his Masters of Divinity Degree in 2011. While attending Jacksonville State, Andrew met Mollie and they were married on August 10, 2002 at McEachern Memorial UMC. McEachern is also where Andrew answered Gods call into ministry under the leadership of Rev Dr. Robin Lindsey and Rev. Jerry McCurdy. Andrew is a Full Connection Elder of the United Methodist Church.

Andrew has a heart for missions and is proud to have been able to be a part of the leadership of mission teams to Kenya, Brazil, and throughout the United States. He and Mollie have a passion for evangelism, missions, and seeing individuals and groups excited about serving Christ both locally and globally. Connecting new people to Jesus in innovative ways is something he and Mollie are passionate about and they are excited about this new opportunity to reach out in Griffin and Spalding County. They take seriously the call to go out sharing the good news of Christ not only globally but in their own back yard. It is their vision to see The Branch continue to grow as a dynamic contemporary worshiping community in this area and they are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
