Led by Debby Stikes.  It will begin Tuesday, August 21, and end November 6. (10:00 a.m., Conference Room)  A $12 donation would be accepted. Get your book ahead of time.

You may get your book ahead of time or pick it up at the first meeting.

Capital Campaign

There is nothing more beautiful than topping the hill on Maple Drive and seeing the magnificent structure of our church come into view. The setting of our church sanctuary is truly a glory to God and honors God wonderfully. Those faithful members of the church who decided to relocate the church building indeed had a great vision for the church as they created a magnificent structure on what became a gorgeous piece of land. God’s House at Griffin First United Methodist Church has thrived here now for almost 55 years!

In these years the building has served us well and has been the home of a very active church whereby the building has been used extensively. A church building that glorifies God like here at GFUMC, can never be over used. The more the people use the church building the closer people get to God. Over the past several years our declining economy has made it difficult for the church to keep up with the maintenance needs of our church building. And truthfully we all know that after the age of 50 most things need refurbishing.  Recently the leaders appointed by God to lead our stewardship of His House
have made the wise decision to have a Capital Stewardship Campaign to raise the finances to make the necessary repairs. The Trustee Committee has evaluated the entire structure and has determined that we have just under $1,000,000 worth of repairs and replacement needs. For this reason the leaders have begun the process of raising these funds through a Capital Stewardship Campaign.

It is my prayer that each of you will participate in this vitally important giving campaign so that this beautiful church campus will continue to glorify God for many more years to come. Let us all unite our hearts as we commit our offerings to honor God by the refurbishing of His House.  In the biblical story of Nehemiah we learn how he reinstated the worship of God among the Jewish community in Jerusalem. He led the restoration of the Temple saying to the Jews, “We will not neglect the house of God.” Please join together as the Body of Christ and help us reach out to renew our faith, restore our building and rejoice in its completion.

Blessings and grace to you,

Med Roach, Senior Minister
